What options for prototypes
do we offer?
We offer three types of invention prototypes to assist the inventor
in the process of developing their invention for sale or license:
virtual
prototypes, physical
prototypes or and working
prototypes. The costs and benefits of each invention prototype
will vary depending on the type you select.
What is an invention prototype?
The process of taking your invention and turning it into a tangible
product is called "reducing the invention to practice"
and a key step in this process is the development of a prototype.
The prototype is an original model on which something is later
patterned and developed. A prototype can range from non-working
models and virtual drawings to 3D virtual designs showing functionality,
all the way to fully functioning working prototypes.
Do you need an invention prototype?
Most inventions should have at least some form of prototype
for the following reasons:

 |
An invention prototype
will make it easier for a prospective company to understand
your invention and why they should pay royalties for it |

 |
The development of a
virtual, physical or working prototype will help work
out the design of the invention before the actual invention
development or production, thus saving re-work and money
later in the process |
